Samsung announces Galaxy Assured buyback offer on smartphones: Details here

Samsung has introduced a buyback offer called Galaxy Assured on its smartphones. The South Korean electronics maker also introduced Galaxy Forever offer, which lets consumers buy the Galaxy S20-series smartphones by paying 60 per cent of the total cost upfront and rest of the amount at the end of first-year. Both the offers are now available across Samsung Exclusive Stores, retail outlets and Samsung online portal.

What is Galaxy Assured

 Samsung has partnered with Servify for this offer in which the company is providing assured buyback value on the Galaxy S20 Ultra, Galaxy S20+, Galaxy S20, Galaxy S10 Lite (512GB) and Galaxy Note10 Lite. In this offer, the company is offering an assured buyback value of up to 70 per cent on a three-month old Galaxy S20 smartphone. A six-month old device is eligible for up to 60 per cent assured buyback value, and up to 50 per cent and 40 per cent on nine months and 12 months old smartphones, respectively.

RIP Masterji: Bollywood, politicians mourn Saroj Khan’s death at 71

Bollywood woke up to the shock news of their beloved ‘masterji’ Saroj Khan’s death on Friday, with many celebrities remembering the veteran choreographer as a “genius” and an “inspiration” to others.

Khan, the name behind some of the most famous songs in Bollywood such as “Dhak Dhak” and “Ek Do Teen”, died of cardiac arrest early on Friday morning. She was 71.

Actor Akshay Kumar termed Khan’s demise as a “huge loss” to the industry.

“Woke up to the sad news that legendary choreographer #SarojKhan ji is no more. She made dance look easy almost like anybody can dance, a huge loss for the industry. May her soul rest in peace,” he tweeted.

Choreographer Farah Khan said she was among the countless artistes who were inspired by Khan’s work.

“Rest in peace Sarojji… You were an inspiration to many, myself included. Thank you for the songs,” she wrote on Twitter.

NEET 2020, JEE Mains 2020 latest updates: HRD Panel’s decision today

Days after CBSE cancelled the remaining class 10 and 12 board exams, National Testing Agency (NTA) and other experts will take a call on conducting medical entrance exam NEET and engineering exam JEE in July as coronavirus cases continue to rise.

Union HRD Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’ said a panel has been asked to decide the feasibility of conducting NEET 2020 and JEE Mains 2020.

“Looking at the prevailing circumstances and requests received from students & parents appearing for JEE and NEEET examinations, a committee consisting of officials from the National Testing Agency (NTA) and other experts has been advised to review the situation and submit its recommendations latest by tomorrow,” Nishank said.

While medical entrance exam National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET) is scheduled on July 26, the Joint Entrance Exam (JEE)-Mains, for admission in engineering colleges, is scheduled from July 18-23.

Students have been signing online petitions and pursuing Twitter campaigns, and requesting the government to postpone the engineering and medical entrance exams as well.

Reliance launches JioMeet to take on Zoom, can support up to 100 members

Amid growing calls for ‘Made in India’ digital tools, Reliance Jio has launched a free video-conferencing application called JioMeet, taking on US-based Zoom platform.

According to the JioMeet description on Google Play Store, the application can be used for 1:1 video calls and hosting meetings with up to 100 participants with enterprise-grade host controls.

  Other highlights include easy sign up with either mobile number or email ID, meeting in HD audio and video quality.

OnePlus has launched affordable Y-series and premium U-series smart TVs in India, priced at Rs 12,999 onwards. The OnePlus TV 2020 series includes a 32-inch, 43-inch and 55-inch screen models. The Y-series include the 32-inch (32Y1) and 43-inch (43Y1) models, whereas the 55-inch (55U1) model is part of the U-series.

WhatsApp has announced that it shall soon bring several new features on Android and iOS platform, web and desktop client and phones based KaiOS. OnePlus Nord name confirmed for OnePlus’ upcoming affordable smartphone

OnePlus Nord is the official name of OnePlus’ upcoming affordable smartphone. The smartphone would mark the Chinese smartphone maker’s return to midrange segment, and India and Europe would be the first countries to get it. OnePlus said that the Nord product line follows the company’s new global business strategy, which includes introducing new products at more affordable price segments.

Samsung opens pre-orders for Galaxy S20+, Galaxy Buds+ BTS edition in India

South Korean electronics maker Samsung is now taking pre-orders for its BTS edition Galaxy S20+ smartphone and Galaxy Buds+ earphones in India. The company also introduced the Galaxy S20 Ultra in a cloud white variant. The Galaxy S20+ BTS edition and Galaxy S20 Ultra Cloud White variant will be available in limited quantity and shall go on sale from July 10.

The Samsung Galaxy S20+ BTS edition price in India is set at Rs 87,999; the Galaxy Buds+ BTS edition at Rs 14,990; and the Galaxy S20 Ultra White variant is priced at Rs 97,999.
