Realme C11 India launch today at 1 pm: Watch livestream, know specs, & more

Realme C11 is set to launch in India on Tuesday through an online event, which is set to begin at 1 pm. The smartphone is expected to be a budget proposition to launch in India at under Rs 10,000 price segment. Unveiled in Malaysia last month, the phone is set to bring several segment-first features and specifications.

Realme C11 launch details

The Realme C11 seems to be a Flipkart-exclusive smartphone. The home-grown e-commerce platform has already listed the phone’s listing page with launch livestream video feed embed. The launch is set to begin at 1 pm on Tuesday, and it will broadcast live on Realme’s YouTube and social media channels. The phone is expected to come in mint green and pepper grey colours and the sale is expected to start within this week.

The Realme C11 is powered by MediaTek Helio G35 system-on-chip. It sports a 6.5-inch mini-drop shaped notch screen of HD+ resolution. The phone has dual camera set-up on the back, featuring a 13-megapixel primary wide-angle sensor paired with depth sensor, and a 5-megapixel selfie sensor on the front. The camera features include portrait mode both rear and front cameras, slo-mo videos and AI selfie beauty mode. Moreover, the phone’s camera boasts super nightscape mode, which is set to be first in the segment — according to company’s claim. Powering the smartphone is a 5,000 mAh battery.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 to launch in India on July 20: Know specs, features

Redmi Note 9 is launching in India on July 20, announced the Chinese electronics maker Xiaomi. The Redmi Note 9 is going to be third smartphone in the company’s Redmi Note 9-series, the first two were the Redmi Note 9 Pro and Redmi Note 9 Pro Max that were launched earlier this year. The Redmi Note 9 was announced in company’s home country China some time back, therefore, most of its specifications and features are already out in the public domain.

The Redmi Note 9 looks similar to the other two Redmi Note 9-series smartphones. It has a glass-metal construction with punch-hole display on the front, and square-shaped quad camera assembly on the back. Microsoft joins Google to create new generation Progressive Web Apps

Microsoft and Google have joined hands to help web developers get their Progressive Web Apps (PWAs) into the Play Store.

Progressive web apps use emerging web browser APIs and features, along with traditional progressive enhancement strategy, to bring a native app-like user experience to cross-platform web applications.

 Microsoft’s PWABuilder and Google’s Bubblewrap are now working together to help web developers.

PWABuilder.com is Microsoft’s open source developer tool that helps build high-quality PWAs and publish them in app stores.

Bubblewrap is Google’s command line utility and library to generate and sign Google Play Store packages from Progressive Web Apps.

PWABuilder is now using Bubblerwrap under the hood, Microsoft says, and is giving back some integration features to PWAs on Android.

After months of collaboration, the two tech giants have announced two great new features for PWA developers: Web shortcuts support and advanced Android features and customization.

Samsung Galaxy Note 20 may have a smaller price tag than the Note 10

South Korean tech giant Samsung is all set to host a virtual event on August 5 to launch the new Galaxy Note 20 series, and a new report suggests it will be priced lower than the Galaxy Note 10 devices.

The smartphone manufacturer is said to launch the Galaxy Note 20 and Note 20 Ultra at a lower price this year due to the reduction in smartphone demand and sales because of Covid-19, reports South Korean publication Naver.

 The Galaxy Note 10 was launched at Rs 78,300 while its successor Note 20 may retail at nearly Rs 75,200).

However, this pricing is for the Korean market and currently, it is not clear if the same will be applied to the global markets as well.

Ahead of the launch, some specifications of the Galaxy Note 20 series surfaced online.

The standard Galaxy Note 20 will sport a 6.42-inch Full HD+ AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and a 1084×2345 resolution.

Do remote work and video meetings actually tax our brain more than in-person work? According to Microsoft, due to high levels of sustained concentration, the brain fatigue begins to set in 30-40 minutes into a video meeting.

Moreover, those who work from remote locations for a longer time, it becomes actually difficult for them to adapt to office settings afterwards, according to the company.

 As millions of people work remotely, video conferences and online events have become a norm but this has taken a definite toll on people’s minds.

According to Jared Spataro, Corporate Vice President for Microsoft 365, a commonly discussed pain point of remote work is that it can feel more challenging or tiring than in-person collaboration.

“Researchers from our ‘Human Factors Labs’ recently set out to understand this phenomenon. Do remote work and video meetings actually tax our brain more than in-person work? The brain science suggests, yes,” said Spataro.

At 16.5 million, TikTok removed most number of videos from India: Report

India made the highest number of requests to TikTok for content removal and user information between July and December last year, according to the Chinese short-video apps’ latest transparency report.

TikTok owned by Beijing-based tech firm ByteDance is among the 59 Chinese apps along with Alibaba’s UC Browser and Tencent’s WeChat which were recently banned by the government citing security concerns. This move came after Indo-Sino tensions escalated.

 TikTok removed over 49 million videos for content violations in just six months. This is less than 1 per cent of all the videos its users created.

India had about 16.5 million videos removed. The US had the second most videos removed with around 4.6 million. Pakistan ranked third (3.7 million), followed by the UK (2 million) and Russia (about 1.3 million).

However, the report did not feature China or Hong Kong among the list of the countries seeking any user information or content removal.

Thunderbolt 4 brings relevant upgrades over predecessor, USB4: Know more

The first computers and accessories with Thunderbolt 4 ports are expected to be available later this year, Intel said on Wednesday even as Lenovo confirmed that it is working with the chipmaker to introduce such devices.

Thunderbolt 4 is Intel’s next generation universal cable connectivity solution, which succeeds four-year-old Thunderbolt 3.

 For the first time, Thunderbolt 4 will offer docks with up to four Thunderbolt ports and universal cables up to two meters in length, Intel said, adding that its upcoming mobile PC processors, code-named “Tiger Lake,” will be the first to integrate Thunderbolt 4.

“The new capabilities and minimum requirements of Thunderbolt 4 will provide great experiences and increased productivity that our IT customers and end users require,” Jerry Paradise, Vice President, Commercial Portfolio, Lenovo PC & Smart Devices, said in a statement.

“Lenovo is excited to work with Intel to expand our support of Thunderbolt with the introduction of Thunderbolt 4 PCs and the expanding portfolio of Thunderbolt accessories.”

Samsung announces ‘Made in India’ Galaxy Watch Active2 4G Aluminium edition

Samsung on Thursday expanded its wearables line-up with the launch of the Galaxy Watch Active2 4G Aluminium edition. The smartwatch with LTE network support is South Korean electronics maker’s first made in India smartwatch. The watch will come in Cloud Silver, Aqua Black, and Pink Gold, priced Rs 28,490 onwards. It will be available from July 11 across retail stores, Samsung Opera House, Samsung online portal and other online e-commerce portals. As part of its launch offer, Samsung is offering 10 per cent cash back and six month no interest equated monthly instalment options to consumers, valid until July 31.

With the new launch, Samsung’s 4G smartwatch range now comprises nine colour finishes, three sizes (42mm, 44mm and 46mm) and two design templates – elegant classic of the Watch 4G (review) and modern minimalistic of the Watch Active2.
