Microsoft set to roll out new ‘reply-all protection feature’ for Office 365

Global technology giant Microsoft is set to roll out a new reply-all protection feature for Office 365 and Exchange Online and it is designed to prevent email storms.

Everyone has been through the agony when hundreds of people start replying to an email thread as someone forgets to BCC everyone. So coming to the rescue, the new block feature will benefit large organisations, and is initially being rolled out to detect 10 reply-all emails to over 5,000 recipients within 60 minutes, the Verge reported.

Vivo V19 with punch-hole screen, dual selfie cameras launched: Price, specs

Chinese smartphone brand Vivo on Tuesday launched the V19 smartphone in India. Originally planned to be launched in April, the phone got delayed because of a countrywide lockdown imposed on March 24 to prevent the spread of coronavirus. Aarogya Setu ‘privacy-first by design’, highly encrypted: NITI Aayog CEO

The government’s Aarogya Setu mobile application is based on “privacy-first by design” principle keeping in mind the safety and privacy of users’ data, said Amitabh Kant, CEO of Niti Aayog. He added that the user data from the app would only be provided to those government officials who were directly in charge of containing the spread of the coronavirus in India.

In an exclusive interaction with ANI, Kant informed that Aarogya Setu mobile application has been built to ensure privacy and security of personal information that was collected from people. It is based on “privacy-first by design” principle.

“Aarogya Setu has a clearly defined protocol for access to data. National Informatics Centre (NIC) is the fiduciary of the data, and data is only shared with government officials directly involved in Covid-19 related medical and administrative interventions on a strictly need-to-know basis and limited in scope only to their direct work,” said Kant.

Aiisma: An app that rewards users in exchange for sharing Covid-19 data

As the government is pushing hard to track down the rising number of Covid-19 cases, data marketplace Aiisma, where users can share their user data in exchange for rewards, has enabled a feature on its app for contact tracing and symptom mapping.

AiiHealth, its health-mapping feature, allows users to voluntarily and anonymously share their health data in turn helping authorities to take proactive measures if in case there are any abnormalities in the data pool. The startup also has a trigger function to send anonymous alerts to any user who might come in contact with a positive case.

 “Our data figures show nearly one-fourth of our users were regularly moving around the 500-metre radius during peak of the lockdown,” said Ankit Chaudhari, founder and CEO, Aiisma. “So these are figures shared by users voluntarily and they are getting rewarded for this information.”

Covid-19 lockdown: Passenger trains to be back on tracks from Tuesday

The Indian Railways will run fully air conditioned passenger trains from Tuesday (May 12) after about a month and a half of shutting the service in its 167-year history.

Initially 15 set of trains will be started and online bookings for these will begin from 4 pm on Monday (May 11) on the website of the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC), the government said in a statement on Sunday.

 “Indian Railways plans to gradually restart passenger train operations from May 12 with 15 pairs of trains (30 return journeys),” the government said.

These special trains will be run from New Delhi, and connect Dibrugarh, Agartala, Howrah, Patna, Bilaspur, Bhubaneswar, Secunderabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, Ranchi, Thiruvananthapuram, Madgaon, Mumbai Central, Ahmedabad, and Jammu Tawi. Fares will be equivalent to that of Rajdhani trains.

Maharashtra CM Uddhav Thackeray set to enter Legislative Council unopposed

Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray is set to enter the Legislative Council unopposed as the Congress on Sunday announced that it would withdraw one of its two nominees for the May 21 elections to nine seats.

State Congress president Balasaheb Thorat said, “We have decided to field only one out of two nominees for the MLC elections, which means the MVA (Maha Vikas Aghadi of Shiv Sena, NCP and Congress) will have five nominees for as many seats (out of the total nine)”.

The BJP has fielded four candidates.

Sony India starts advanced booking for home audio-video products

Consumer electronics major Sony India on Friday said it has started online advanced booking for home audio-video products, which will be delivered to customers after the lockdown is lifted.

The company has announced attractive offers on advanced online booking for smart TVs, cameras and home theatres, which will be delivered by Sony’s retail channels as Sony Center and Sony Exclusive after the lockdown is lifted, it said in a statement.

  Other industry players such as Samsung and LG have already started pre-booking for items like smart TVs and home appliances through their own digital platforms.

After 40 days of lockdown, certain business activities like opening of standalone stores and e-commerce delivery of non-essential items have been allowed in green and orange zones (locations with few or no COVID-19 cases).

With some relaxations being made in the third phase of the lockdown from May 4, these companies are now looking at a revival in demand.

Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi on Friday launched its flagship smartphone the Mi 10 5G in India. The smartphone is being offered in 8GB/128GB and 8GB/256GB variants, priced at Rs 49,999 and Rs 54,999, respectively. The device is available for pre-orders on Amazon India and Mi India Store. As part of phone’s launch offer, Xiaomi is providing cashback of up to Rs 3,000 on transactions made through HDFC Bank cards. Customers pre-ordering the smartphone will get the Mi 10000mAh Wireless Power Bank, worth Rs 2,499, for free.

In terms of specifications, the Mi 10 5G sports a 6.67-inch curved E3 AMOLED display of 19.5:9 aspect ratio and 90Hz refresh rate.
